Juniper Chocolate is an artisan, small-batch chocolatier with a mission to capture the natural, nostalgic flavors of Virginia and the North American East Coast in the form of beautiful chocolate bonbons.

About the Owner

Brittany Pryby is a pastry chef who trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France, and has experience in bakeries, fine-dining restaurants, and pop-ups. Her desserts have graced the menus of fine-dining restaurants in Minnesota, Kentucky, Michigan, and Finland. She transforms ingredients sourced from local producers into delicious, well-balanced confections designed to evoke both nature and nostalgia.

During her career (and life in general), Brittany has always had a soft spot for chocolate. While traveling in the U.S. and Europe, chocolate shops were always on her list of must-stop venues. She admired the “jewelry case” aesthetic of chocolate presentations as well as the bite of pure bliss she experienced when eating a well-crafted bonbon.

In 2022, she decided to embrace this lifelong love and start work as a chocolatier. After gaining experience working in artisan chocolate production, she set in motion plans to create something of her own. She is thrilled to finally be able to introduce her custom creations, to bring you that “bite of bliss” she strives to achieve with every chocolate.

We are currently in the process of finding a production facility so that we can start selling later this year. Once we have a home, we will be able to begin small scale production and start selling locally. As business grows, we will locate to a more permanent boutique with chocolate counter and cafe.

Thank you for your patience and support as we navigate the start-up phase!

Quality Chocolates and Aesthetics

Each chocolate will be thoughtfully crafted into a full sensory experience, providing the customer with exceptional taste wrapped in a colorful, shining chocolate shell.

I want to elevate the chocolate-tasting experience by using meticulously sourced natural ingredients, creating fresh flavors that balance well with the chocolate, and introducing texture nuance through smooth, crunchy, and combination fillings.

The Path Ahead

Our Values

Customer Experience

A jewelry case of shiny, colorful bonbons. The scent of Virginian juniper wood from the accent wall of ready-to-enjoy chocolate sets. Vibrant conversations over a steaming cup of coffee. Every part of a customer’s experience at the boutique will be both seamless and memorable.

The future boutique will be an inviting space, one that will allow customers to slow down and savor their chocolates, whether alone or with other customers, and will offer curated tastings and counter service treats.

Production Philosophy

Fresh ingredients will be sourced from local businesses and producers - the support of which helps strengthen the local economy, enrich the lives of community members, and enhance the bonds people have with where they live.

I also plan to contribute to our community by supporting and uplifting local businesses and farms and by prioritizing employee satisfaction rather than leaving it as an afterthought.
